My question is, does a 2000 rating USCF grant a person the title of CM?
No USCF rating will confer a FIDE title.

So a person is thus required to reach USCF NM level, which is 2200+. Is this correct? Or, 2200+ FIDE which grants the CM title.

Yep.
p.s. Of course, other countries also confer national titles e.g. English NM title is approximately 2250 (over two consecutive seasons).
George, titled players get free premium membership on chess.com. I was wondering what level I had to reach USCF to be titled. The Wikipedia wasn't clear :)
im pretty sure chess.com also accepts uscf candidate master, which i think u get when u have a few 6 round tourneys with a preformace of 200+
only FIDE CMs can obtain the CM red letters, i got free diamond at US standard 2200+, up until i reached that standard i paid for my membership, and the remainder of the membership credit i gave to a friend.

I understand that 2200+ FIDE are considered Candidate Masters, which from what I understand is the lowest title you can hold to be considered a title member. On Wikipedia, 2000+ USCF is considered "Candidates Masters," with the quotations added. This is more commonly called "expert" level.
