What's Up with "My Topics" ?? It's working "arse-backwards" as of Sept. 18, 2018.

Clicking on "My Topics" used to bring up (chronologically) ever thread in which you posted.

Now it simply brings up -- only the threads that you yourself started.

Big Difference, and a Big Headache, if you want to post in ongoing threads.

Big Relief, if you want to ignore the forum threads altogether, because it's simply too much work to find the last thread in which you posted.

Whatever.  Life on this site is largely run by AI, is it not?  What a nuthouse.  grin.png

If you want to see what you posted in:

Yes, but "My Topics" used to bring up every thread in which you had posted.  And that "result" no longer obtains (as of today).

It's a bummer, if you want to post into someone else's topic, which has been the standard process for forum threads.

This change might be part of the V2, V3 transition craziness.  Who knows??

Very confusing, in any case.

I don't know what is going on, have no desire to know, and really don't care to know...

zborg

That's good to know, indeed.  grin.pnggrin.png

It's a qualitative change in how the threads are stored are given access to, unfortunately.

What a pain in the arse, (for some of us).

An effective way to limit forum activity.

Running out of volunteer moderators.

An image change. After all, chess is serious business.

Servers running out of storage.

Instead of going straight to your topics, time is spent reading adds.

Could be any number of things. But a bug ? Not on CC.

A chain is only as strong as it weakest link, and the forums are without a doubt the "weak link" here.

You clean up the forums, you clean up the site.

Titled_Patzer

Yep. Get rid of the riff-raff, hooligans and rabble rousers.

Go the route of lichess. Cross the omnipresent admin and get zapped for life. No explanations, no replies. Very effective. Use another name ? Useless.

Maybe you're on to it. Too much busy work for multitudes of CC admins. Their time could be much better spent than dealing with petty squabbles.

I like your chaos theory avatar, Patzer.

It's time to read "World Without Mind," by Franklin Foer --

Conversely, you muck up the forums, you muck up the site.

Forcing you to track topics (and receive alerts every time someone posts) will quickly drive you nuts.  No Shite Dick Tracey, (NSDT).

This thread is turning everyone "bass-ackwards."

Heaven Help the Widows and Orphans.

zborg

NOW, when you post inside you own threads, they instantly become "Hot Topics" ??

What internet Brainiac made that change (today) to the site's algorithms ??

This place is a Nuthouse.  "It attracts only the finest people," a la William Wallace.

Yes, it's right up there with smart-phone-up-yer-arse.  Which is endemic to people driving cars, and sitting in groups at restaurants.  Freedom to choose, or simply freedom to shop?  happy.png

Is it really "freedom" or electronic slavery?

I' see both sides Mr Bacon. In fact, my local news did a report recently that said more and more people are ADDICTED to checking their phones weather the're in their cars or in their bathtubs.

Ron...let me give my own little microcosm of society example.

I teach chess,  I volunteer along with 2 other guys on Fridays.  I don't do the personal student thing much anymore.  But what i have noticed is this...Indian students, and Asian students, are generally the most well behaved, polite, and attentive, and on time.  About 50% of the white kids i get, cant stay off of, or put down the phone, tablet, etc.  The parents bring them late with no advance notice, don't apologize, and when you have to keep asking them to take the phone away form the kid, they get...here it comes..."Offended"

Just my small sample size.
