The policy/process can't tell the difference between aborts that are intentional and those due to technical issues, so it treats them the same.

But what I want to know which games were considered? The reason I am asking is that sometimes I abort games(before a single move is made) if I get an opponent who is rated lower than me. But I am not wasting anybody's time there. And if aborts are considered unfair, then why is that option even there? You can just disable the abort button on profiles who abuse it. I don't understand why aborting games I haven't begun is considered against fair play. This is just stupidity.
If you abort too many games, you will get flagged by the policy. It doesn't matter why it is done.
The player the system paired you with had their time wasted. They will have to enter another seek and wait for a new pairing.
If you don't do it too often, you won't be restricted. The site does penalize those that do it too often and removes the abort option; it becomes resign and creates a rating loss.
We are going to change soon how aborts are handled, but for right now, if you abort more than 25% of your games, you will get a restriction.

There is just no way I aborted that many games! I'd really like to see my stats on aborted games. Just for me to understand.
Ok..So in the last 20 games, if I abort more than 5, then I get a warning...Makes more sense now. I might have done that previous week when I was getting too many lower rated players.

its 25% of your last 20 games. Not lifetime.
what if you get matched with someone you don’t want to play ?
If you don't want to play 25% of the people you are matched with you are too picky
That said, you might benefit from custom challenges where you can get the color of your choice and rating range choices.
If you are trying to avoid certain people you can also block them.
a message pops ups saying view our fair policies when i lose so much games what is problem with this
It pops up when you use Analysis to make custom positions and you leave the tab to open for too long then come back to it.
I just got the fair play popup. A bit insulting given that i sm playing 100% legitimately, against an opponent who i have wondered if they are cheating. Their accuracy is freakishly high >98% in all games v humans, but a lot lower when playing easy level bots... They also have a very odd game history where many of their games have been resigned after 1 move. I dont think for certain they are cheating, its just crossed my mind. Also the game isnt for money or anything so i dont really care if they are. Im just treating it as a learning experience. But to then get accused of cheating myself i find a little ironic...
So, all of a sudden today, I get this message saying that my account would be restricted if I do not follow the fair usage policy. I have no clue why I am getting the message. I have NOT intentionally aborted/abandoned/stalled games. Can somebody from chess.com show me the games where they suspect unfair play? I get this message before every game I start and it pisses me that the site thinks I do not play fair!
