It doesn't matter where the slip was ... a mouseslip is the same as accidentally releasing your piece in a real world game ... it's on you, not your opponent...

mouse slip in real life doesn't exist, only online

this was one mouseslip, it doesn’t mean everybody’s unsportsmanlike.

yes so am I, and I know the difference. you’re saying that whenever there’s a mouseslip, the slipper (haha) should offer a draw and it should be accepted.

I don’t know the stats, but a guess would be about half, maybe a third of all games on chess.com include mouseslips.

wouldn’t this lead to a third of all games being draws? do we really want chess.com to be that boring

It's mostly children on here that were not taught well by their parents. There's no sportsmanship here, so don't expect to find any. Look at the forums; do you think these damaged people who hang out here have lives and friends? Do you think most chess players can function in the real world? Hold down jobs and get along with coworkers? Of course not! So although it seems reasonable, stop expecting courtesy here. There is none.
