Why can’t you premove in some games?

I was just playing some three minute bughouse games, and I found that I was low on time. I was up material, so I tried to premove my king to somewhere safe and go for a win, but I couldn’t premove for some reason. I ended up losing on time, and I was so mad. Is premoving possible in chess variants?
