That happens when the game starts and its ur 1st or 2nd move
It's happened to me in the middle of the game multiple times, not at the start. It happens when I spend a lot of time thinking about my move.

If the game is not past 10 moves, there is also a long move timer, but that is half the time control. If you get disconnected, the that is a possible cause, but there isn't a general move timer otherwise.

I managed to get a screenshot of it after the 16th move:
I don't think I have any connection issues, and if I do I never notice them.
I have the same problem, but when the counter is down we can continue to play the game, it's weird .

Oh really? I didn't know that. I'll try it out, thanks!
Did you try this out? I'm having the same issue and would like to know if it's ok to just ignore that message!

try it, if it's like the autor of the topic, i encounter the same problem and you have just to ignore it.
So if its after the first ten moves you can ignore it?
Surely there should be no warning shown in that situation

All on the long move timer, but after move 10 can use any amount of time.
I play blitz arenas regularly. I understand that there's a first move timer that makes games considered abandoned if you don't make your first move fast enough. But there's also a glitch that makes the same alert pop up later in the game. Chatting to other players, many have experienced this. It's not a real timer, because nothing actually happens when the time expires, but it is annoying that the glitch hasn't been fixed by now and it's also distracting during the game.
Another reason why lichess better... Why am I being pressured to make a move in a 3+2 blitz game when I've thought for more than 30 seconds? I was too scared to let it tick down so I rushed and made a bad move. If auto-resign is implemented, why don't they rename the time control "3+2 but you must make a move every 15 seconds". Terrible feature, please fix this.
I do understand the timer on the first move (/few moves but that's already a bit of a strech imo), but keep losing games cause we cant think for more than 10 seconds in 2+1/3+2/any bullet or blitz doesnt make any sense.
Been years that chess.com is doing it and it seriously makes me reconsider using this site.
Great day to y'all

The countdown that comes up during the first tem moves is a bug. As long as you're not triggering the long move timer of half the time control in the first 10 moves, you can safely ignore it.

A lot of times when I play blitz, I get into a position where I'd like to spend a lot of time thinking about the move and then the 15 second timer starts running saying that it will auto-resign me if I don't play a move. I understand that this is for protecting people who try to "nona fry" their opponent but it's caused me a few losses already and I'd like to know if there's a way to turn it off.
