He would have seen a warning message from his anti-virus program.
We are working on that but as yet, please be assured no-one that i'm aware of has had their computers infected.
windows defender type virus on this site?

yes, i got the virus, but it is not called Windows Defender. It now has random names. I isolated, and renamed the virus and put it in a separate folder. I get the viruses when i first go to www.Chess.com home page before i log on. I am not sure what part of the chess.com home page causes the virus. I still have the virus on my computer, but it isn't affecting my computer. If I can send it to someone at chess.com, maybe they can look at it, and figure out where it came from? I'll help in any way I can.
how do i mail them? are they best sent as zip files? (I don't want to infect another computer). I don't think they would do any harm to another computer unless they are started, but better to be safe.
I actually have 3 of them (i went to chess.com 3 times today and got the virus each time.)
There was no indication as to where the virus(es) came from. If it came from an advertisemnt, then anyone who has a paid membership would not have been infected, since they don't see ads. (I have the free membership.)
Let me know the best way to send them, and I'll send them as soon as possible.

I would like to say that this experience has in no way influenced me to stop playing on chess.com, and I hope no one else gets discouraged either. Hackers can invade just about any website if they want to, and even the most secure sites can get viruses. I still play on chess.com and I'm having lots of fun! 
Jason2004s said he got a virus on his computer when he entered this site....and now he is not able to get onto site...anyone else having this trouble?
