Both of our Windows 8 computers have now had the same issue. Won't start with the error "No boot device available."

One of them did ok after being shut off.

The other I haven't been able to get to work after spending a few hours. It is only five or six months old.

I have W7 on one box and W8 on the new box that replaced my XP machine. In two months, I've found new possibilities but no problems. The OS is a bit awkward on a desktop as it was designed for tablets. Nonetheless, it works. I am enjoying the ability of One Note to sync data between my two windows computers, my iPad and iPhone, and my wife's Mac and her mobile devices. One Note is part of the MS Office suite. It was designed for W8, but works on many platforms.

Here's a test for you all.  Open up the calculator in Windows 8, and try not to laugh.

What is so funny about it? Only weirdness I can see is that "1/x" button, but other than that it is a decent simple calculator. Other than that, you can change the view of the calculator, so you get lots of extra features. Try it!

I'm using Windows 8.1 (en_windows_8_1_x64_dvd_2707217.iso) since very much the day it was made available, almost a year ago, free of charge, from msdnaa/DreamSpark. :)

The calculator is just fine:
