No, its an issue similar to the one they had with steroids in the Olympics. Eventually a screening process will be created, a high profile cheater will get busted, and that should put an end to it.

By the way, his mention of them using a gimmick like the one in Casino also gives you an idea of where the problem will be thickest: tournaments with hefty entry fees and large cash prizes. Smaller tournaments with lower entry fees and prizes should be less likely to infested with cheaters.

Well im playing all comers now so anyone who accepts my challenge i play. When i made it to 1536 i was playing people 1550+

I went from 1450 to 1200, but got a year and a half younger in the process... weird....

congrats.  I have been working somewhat hard and can barely maintain 1300.  What was your study stategy? Tactics and chess mentor have not helped me break the barier yet.

What i have been working on basically is my opennings. Making sure i develop all my pieces to good squares and castle. a majority of my loses came from me not ensuring king safety. so since i have been doing that i have seen my rating grow

What method are you using to study tactics? In the past, I found a well chosen set of 2-4 move problems best (a couple thousand of them repeated 3 times, doubling the number per day on the 2nd pass and then again on the 3rd).

This builds pattern recognition. More complex problems develop calculation instead. While you need both, calculation is easier as your pattern recognition improves.

I'm just using the tactics traineer and chess mentor and watching the video.  It hasn't been for very long but I have read several books before even coming on this website.  I will just keep with the plan for now.  I tend to get beat up in the openings more.  At this level people tend to just have traps memorized. If I don't fall for them I can usually win.

You will notice that when you play people between 1500-2200 a lot of those people use very poor variations and even give pieces away just to confuse you but if you can manage to know some of these poor variations then you should be able to beat quite a few

I mean do stuff like take your king's bishop pawn to prevent you from castling like in a 1 minute bullet game. tough to recover from sometimes
