I don't have any knowledge about this opening, but if at the most you are playing 1...d5 then after 2.exd5 don't play 2...Qxd5 as White can gain a tempo with 3.Nc3.But I recommend not playing it at all unless you know a lot of theory about the opening.

Here is my game with 'Karthik1305'.I myself am not a good player at all. This is my first post ever on chess.com,so please comment. Thanks!

Qxd5 is fine, but usually it goes to a5 or  d6 instead of all the way back

I have a DVD by Andrew Martin and he recommends 2. ... Nf6 for Black. I have tried it and it is very interesting. One should become familiar with this opening since other openings transpose to the Scandinavian. For example some lines of the Caro Kann and King's Gambit. Also this opening gives you practice in playing open games in general.

Thanks 'Michael Porcelli'.SmileI agree that 2...Qxd5 is fine, but don't you think that it is a bit of a positional concession and that White gets to develop a bit more quickly.I am not too sure though.
