Are there any players with a 1600+ rating that will play me in live chess?
Hello all. I am currently a student in the art of chess, and I was wondering if there is anybody with a 1600+ rating that will play me. I would like to learn how to play chess really well, and I figure losing to those way better than me will help me. Thank you all!
Dear Ian,
I have a question. Why would you play someone 14 times who is rated 1600+, lose to that same opponent 14 times in consecutive order, and post a topic that requests to play more players rated 1600+?
If you really want to get better, then you may send me a message and I will share with you a quick secret that will at least give you a chance against those 1600 morons who want to beat up on you.
That loser Ceress is just a bully looking to beat up on weak player (I don't mean to offend you with that, but I don't think that your opponent saw it any other way).
Do you really think that Ceress would want to play someone like me 14 times? I would drop him and his rating like a a bad habit.
To get better, you need to be able to try new things during a game to see what happens, but you also need to be able to turn IT on when you want to.
Take my games for instance... if someone looks at my rating and record, they will think that I am a mid 1600 level player, but that's not true. I regularly let opponents take the advantage in matches to learn what I would do in a particular situation. I end up losing some of those games because in those matches, I willingly gave my opponent a free Queen or a free Rook or advanced my pawns to strange positions just to see how the opponents react. Then when I want to, I put it all together and use multiple things together to defeat my opponents easily. That's chess.
It's only alright to lose if you know why, how, and the variables that led to your loss. It is not alright to get plastered, push the rematch button, get plastered again, push the rematch button, get plastered again, and simply bang your face into the wall. Would a fighter learn anything by letting someone hit him in the face with their fist repeatedly while the fighter just stood there? Think about it.
You will run into many morons and losers on this site who just don't have what it takes to be great chess players. They are often overrated and quite simply worthless twits who will jump at the opportunity to trash talk after winning matches that they had no business winning.
Here is a link to something that I am trying to put together for players like you who have the drive and the fighting spirit to be great. After all, the willingness to challenge superior players is admirable at the very least.
Question you have to be asking yourself is... Why would anyone want to beat up on a player rated sub-1000?
If you were rated 1600+ would you improve yourself or get better by playing opponents rated below 1000? No, absolutely not. So, what drives someone to do so?
I believe that these players who wish to challenge you right now are just looking to scrub your face on the floor and make you eat dirt. There is no other reason...
