Bots play

I am unable to play the bots on live chess,

the new bot system is great but it doesnt allow me to track and visit my old games. Anyone know where the old bot system went? Whenever i click play computer it takes me to the new version.

I am currently unable to play a rated game against the computer with a time limit >30min.

Hey stormiknights, i found that you can still play them but you have to find them on your game history and click rematch...

i hope we can make a database to find all the bots again

On my game history i have some bots you can play, but not all of them

i hate this new live chess vs computer option. I can see there were good intentions behind it, but it was just fine the way it was. Now im not playing rated games vs bots, i get stuck in games i cant leave. As someone who plays vs bots nearly all the time i hate this. After the last update and this one, i dont think i'll renew.

I'm sure if we all work together we can create a forum with all the bots, back, maybe tagging their users. maybe someone can help me with this plan

Please bring the old Bot system back!
@BlushingMinute you can find the old bots by looking at the new system then adding -bot at the end, well, apart from komodo and the like.

@grantsaunders I agree with everything you said. Rated bots play is also "down" for me, sucks. You can leave these games by hitting "new game", the + symbol. This will auto-resign you.

For me the biggest downfall is the inability to revisit old games to see how you progressed against a certain bot.

The trick is to find a game in your match history and click on "rematch".
Previously I just clicked on the Komodo13 player page and clicked on "challenge", but in this case the bot declines your challenge ...

It's sad when something good AND perfectly working AND enjoying user support

is "fixed" or "upgraded" to something worse

I wish they would bring things back to the way they were. I never saw an announcement or anything that the bots program was ending. It really made it easy to get some quick games throughout the day.

I am also annoyed by removing the option to play the bots in the "old way". The new way doesn't track my games and doesn't let me track a rating. I almost exclusively play against bots for a variety of reasons, and losing the option to play bots in the classic manner is a big downgrade for me.

I guess they do region-based A/B testing. Rated games against bots in still available at my region. But I need to go into my games history, click on the bot's name and then click 'challenge'. The new bots with fancy names and personalities that are available in the "play against computer" don't allow rated games though. They also don't seem to allow you even to resign. You've to click "new game" to resign.

I also play exclusively with the "komodo" bots and only rated games. Am hoping they won't entirely remove this feature. Why would they downgrade functionality like this?
