The crazy thing is, 1.0 has still existed all this time and all they had to do was put it on a different server and put a hyperlink to it somewhere.
2.0 was a step down in almost every respect.

That's one of the main problems I've had with the new chess.com too.
This website can literally obliterate all other chess sites if they simply make their UI a little better.
- Observing games of high rated players was a great feature.
- If players can see that others are observing their game it would be nice, currently, I get annoyed that my friends don't even notice I am watching them because they immediately click rematch.
- A little more noticable way to notice the ***** on the Main Chat so we know when we are challenged/friended/messaged.

sorry - we got a little sidetracked with some performance optimizations and preparing live chess for ChessKid.com. our roadmap looks like this:
- chesskid live chess
- fix clock bouncing issues
- games tab
- live chess 3
but now live chess isn't disconecting very often unlike before..so given a choice, i'd still prefer the current one..though it will still be better if very few disconnections and i can watch other live chess games

So Erik, what is your current estimated time frame for games tab?
OMG Super dooper awesome. Back in the day the games tab was good, but the players tab was better. ;) haha

Really? Because, I mean, nobody pays because of the great features such as chessmentor or anything... (obvious sarcasm). The fact of this particular matter is, nobody really cares about watching others play chess! There are so many better things chess.com is working on, observing is pretty much near the bottom of the list. It just isn't that important. You pay for the features on this site, and observing games is not one of the main ones.
I have no doubt others would like to observe games, don't get me wrong, it's just not a main feature.
I actually value the ability to watch live games. It is a mayor thing not to be able to do it. We miss out on when the IM's on the site duel it out in blitz! How disapointing is that? I would very much like to see this feature return.
