Can A 1300 Player Checkmate a 2100 Player in 2020?

This evening I searched for a live challenge and found a Rated 10 Minute game against a 2128 player from Myanmar and I accepted expecting to get KO-ed in 15 moves, but I managed to win the game.

I am your average chess player on Chess.com with a rating that's currently hovering around 1300 and I wanted to share this epic win with the Chess.com world to prove that it is possible to beat someone who is rated 800+ points ahead of you.

If you would like to comment on your personal analysis of my game I would be very thankful. I'd like to see what other players have to say about this upset win. Thanks in advance!

There was NO WAY that I should have gotten a win here but yet lightning struck the same place twice. According to wismuth.com, I only had a 0.000873% chance of winning!

I don't think that I did anything spectacular in the game, it just felt like a normal 1300 game with the Giuoco Piano Game and I was down a pawn at some point in the middle game and somehow got that back. I planned to just play a solid game and I really focused hard on not dropping pieces, and even though I tried I did lose a pawn pointlessly on move 17 after overlooking that I was undefending my pawn on e5.

I was particularly proud of my endgame in which I was able to win back a pawn and secure a solid position finally coming out 1 pawn up. To be honest, when I continued playing after my opponent left the game on move 49, I blundered into a drawn position against the max chess.com computer. So if my opponent hadn't left the game it would most likely have ended in a draw.

What do you think about this game? Did the 2100 player underperform and was this a glitch in the universe?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

Thanks, Boogalicious for the comment! If only I could play this well in every game of mine!

No, he's legit, he just really likes the "extremely very much quiet so soft" game. Black still had drawing chances a pawn down, so it was really anyone's game.

Before I watch the game, this was probably either a player who got to 2100 by playing weak players, or a sandbagger.

I thought so too at first but I went to his past game page to see his opponents and that same day as our game he defeated several different 2100 players and one 2200 player. At the time of the game it was 10 Am in his country so he was not playing tired (which was another suspicion of mine). I also am not a sandbagger. Take a look at my games if you want but I have worked hard for months to reach 1300.

Yeah, when looking at the analysis after the game I was surprised to see that there were ways for white to draw the game and when playing against the computer from this position I accidentally drew the game twice (against max level). One wrong move and the game is a draw!
