Can I choose which colour to play?

I've just started playing Live Chess and have played about 6 games now - every one as black.

Is this random, or can I choose to play as white? If so, how do I go about doing this?

(I feel like I'm stuck in some chess variation of the start of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead....)

You can only choose your color in unrated games. The system will try to balance your color allocations but it looks like you have had white 15 times in your last 18 games of 15|10.

My 15|10 games have been mostly against the computer, when I was able to choose white, hence why I thought it would be possible against other people. But from what you've said, perhaps the system is trying to balance things out, and I'll have to get used to playing black for a while!
