What type of connection do you have at home?
How far are you away from the router when you try to connect at home?

I have a cable connection through one of the major phone companies here in Bangkok. I am right next to the router with five bars of signal. I am connected through that router as I write this; it usually works fine, and until about a week ago I never had trouble starting live games through it.
Hi everyone,
I'm having a peculiar connection problem, and I wonder if anyone else has experienced it. I am able to play live chess on my laptop through most wireless routers, with no problem. However, when I use the wireless router at my home, here it simply says the connection timed out, and will not load. My router works fine for all other websites. I've tried resetting the router and clearing cookies, as chess.com support suggested, but no dice. Also, when I ping the live chess server I get a normal response.
This has been going on for about a week now, and I don't know what to do. Has anyone else ever had a similar problem? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Have you tried it by changing the IP?
