being compensated for the lags ?
cheating?
+1
Yes, I was correct...and it doesn't take a hacker to cheat using lag. Anybody who knows how to click on a standard .exe file to install software can do it. That's a rather large pool of POTENTIAL cheats. Please note I'm not saying that every laggy player is cheating. But certainly there are some.
It seems unlikely that this would be an effective form of cheating. By the time this software was distributed to a significant amount of people chess.com could probably have some kind of detection in place. Basically what I mean is that it would be hard for a single, unchanging program to continually hack the ever improving chess.com servers. One hacker might be able to do it though, but I would guess it would take a lot of time and energy.
In before the lock!
What does that mean? Are the mods going to lock the thread because it's outside of the cheating forum or something?

I just played someone in 3 minute live chess, and when his timer went to 0 seconds it just went back to 1 or 2 seconds, and when it went back to 0 seconds again, it went back to 1 or 2 seconds so he never ran out of time.
Is this possible?
