Chess algorithm not good

A bit of a rant. The system used to play blitz on determination of time does not work. Sometimes I beat a player and still have 30 secs on the clock. He has made moves as soon as me so therefore it should be closer on time. And the same has happened to me in reverse. Where's the skill in a blitz in these instances? An old fashioned chess board and clock is so much more accurate. Like I said it's a rant. Now to wait for all the snyde comments to begin.

Sometimes I feel like I'm keeping pace, but then the clock shows I'm behind.

Sometimes (more rarely) I'll feel like I'm far behind, but somehow the clocks are even.

Mostly I think these are false impressions, and I trust the clock, although if one (not both) player is lagging and the other isn't it can definitely give a false impression.

If both players have a good (or bad) connection, and you still feel chess.com often screws it up, most people are going to think you're just dumb... so the best way to do it would be to capture it on video. Record yourself playing some games and compare what's happening in the video with something like a stopwatch.

I've done this with a few bullet games of Hikaru's just to show that a 1|0 game on chess.com can last 2 minutes and 15 seconds tongue.png
