Chess.com rating vs. ELO or FIDE

My FIDE rating is 1322, but my chess.com blitz rating is currently 1864. I think that an exact correlation between the two systems does not exist.

My fide rating is 1320, but I have a blitz rating of around 2000 here. As ratings are relative, it is difficult to establish a clear link which can predict your real rating using an online one. It really depends on how much the strength difference between you and your opponents are.

Chess ratings are a relative rather than absolute measure. So how you rate will depend on the average strength of your opposition. If everyone starts at 1,200 and only grandmasters played, the average grandmaster rating would also be 1200. 

I find that my rating on shorter time controls steadily declines on chess.com. I suspect that is because only quite strong chess players play 2min bullet chess - typically those rated 1500+ because you have to be quite good at the same to be capable of playing a sensible game that quickly. Consequently, the average ability of your opponents is much higher than longer time controls, and hence you average rating is lower. 

A difficult matter for sure. Except for daily (and not for much) all my chess.com ratings are lower than my FIDE Elo.

My rating here is a lot less than my OTB rating - and also a lot less than my Lichess-rating. I just beat a few +1900 players OTB in rated competition scoring something like a 1950ish performance for a tournament.  Here I struggle to reach 1500 in blitz. It's frustrating as hell - but somehow it seems to me that I play worse on chess.com than anywhere else. It gets even more frustrating when people rated very poorly OTB state that they have reached 2000 here? What on earth is going on?

The point is that average rating in 2000 blitz in chess.com is around 2000 real fide. (most of them are between 1800 - 2200 ).

Unless you are real 2000 OTB, you will struggle to play against 2000 people here. 

That sounds reasonable but doesn`t explain why some people with low OTB rating do well here? Some even call the chess.com ratings inflated. 

In chess, there is only two things, search  and evaluation!!

People with better evaluation overperform in blitz/bullets. ( I feel that in this position, I must sacrifice this piece or open this file without much search)

In longer games, people with bad evaluation can be corrected by search. (the players with better evaluation gets less benefits as he already got the same answer wihtout search).

There is no “true” rating. How well you compete at a specific time control is how well you compete at that time control. 

However, rating at different time controls tends to correlate. If you are 2000 FIDE it would be pretty surprising if you are 1200 at 5 minute—assuming you have sufficient familiarity with 5m games (ie if you have never played blitz before you would need to practice.)

I've been playing on chess.com a long time, stable around 1600 blitz. Have not played over the board for 10+ years. Recently went to a chess club and played like a beginner. I couldn't see anything in 3D, no spatial awareness or intuition at all.

I'm sure it gets better with practice, and I kind of miss playing with real pieces. When you make something work, it looks sweet to see the pieces doing what they're meant to!

Anyone else find this problem? 

In terms of rating equality, I remember how 1600 players used to beat me in blitz, and I think I'm probably about there now. I'm also missing the things I remember 1700+ players teaching at the club years ago. It seems a concrete step upwards to that level, which will need some actual learning and less blitz+wine sessions

This last is not accurate; I am stable at around 2250 blitz both on here and the other site mentioned. There's not 150 points difference between the two sites at that rating level.

competition here is legendary. I feel like outside india ratings are hugely inflated (fide.) Many players who have gone outside of india to improve their rating have suceeded but after coming back to india have failed horribly. 2300 FM got a draw with 1100 Fide and left tournament (U!! nationals) instantly. Anyways I am 1300 FIDE but 1700 rapid chess.com though I barely play

ACcording to this list I should be 1800 Fide, my lichess is over 2100 but i am only 1300 FIde...

And I play 6-7 rated tournaments in one year so not inactive either

I can get a draw with Stockfish Level 7. Google says stockfish level 7 elo is around 2300.... I dont understand these metrics bruh
