I find this rather annoying and actually quite preposterous. I was in a game that was 15.10 and it was a was getting towards the endgame. Here is the position below with White to move. I had 9 minutes left of my clock and my opponent had 7 and I got disconnected from the game (cable internet overload). I had to restart my router and computer and when I came back about 5 minutes later the game was over and I got the loss. Getting the loss didn't upset me, but the game ending with time on the clock was really annoying. I came back and my opponent had 4 minutes left still and I had 9 minutes. I get leaving games can be annoying and such but since we were on our 44th move I felt it was pretty lame that the game just quit itself for me. Had it been before say move 20 or so it would have been warranted. There has to be some explanation as to why this was the case.
