Does anyone ever experience winning like 7 games straight them losing 7 of 10?

I seem to be in a pattern: I will win, and seem to play quite well, a whole string of 5-7 games and then lose catastrophically 7 out of 10 even against players rated 75-100 points below me?  Does anyone else ever have this happen to them?  Any suggestions?  My current remedy is to stop after two straight losses and doing some lessons or tactics then resuming 48 hrs. later

I think it happens to everybody once in a while.

You should look at a table of rating differences and expected results. According to a Winning Probabilities calculator, a 75 point difference only gives you a 60% expectation of winning and 100 points gives you only 64%.

At your level is very common to beat high rated and to lose to way low rated. Many reasons for that.

1. You play new account who drew or won or lost his first game and his rating skyrock or sinks,  but he is way weaker or better than his rating suggest.

2. At your level many are playing for fun or drunk and don't care much and they can lose to anyone.. then with their low rating next day they easily beat everyone.

3. Many at your level actually intentionally lower their rating so they can always win, it's call sandbagging and its very common.

4. At your level many just cheat.

5. At your level players blunder left and right several times every game, you guys don't have yet the skills to convert winning game so you might lose easy to really low rated or win vs higher rated.

"4. At your level many just cheat."

I have suspected that although the staff @ Chess.com says this is unlikely at my level but much more likely at the very upper levels, like above 2000

Maybe somebody cheats but it's highly unlikely you face such people in a row of 7 or 10 games. Loosing streaks are common when you gamble, lost one or two games and want to come back desperately. I have such thing. Once I lost about 400 points in blitz during 2 days. I wanted to regain my rating and continued playing more and more until i hit a bottom of 1100 points and couldn't lose anymore because my actual rating was much higher. Since then i have taken 300 points quite easily. It's cool you can control yourself, i needed some time to learn it.

Hi @notmtwain. I've managed to reach 1600 in blitz, so i'm not worse than that computer-hard crap. :) And i even lost couple last games because of my crap internet.

Oh yeah and some players can play dozens of games agains computer out of frustration, becouse he often sacs a piece for 2-3 pawns, you come better and ahead but then lose at the end and they rating just vanish.

All the time - when I build my grade up my opponents play openings that I don't like and my grade goes down the next time I have a bad session when I am like a mug in a casino and don't know when to quit.
