Downloads for "live" chess?

Maybe you should use a reasonable browser...Like Firefox...or Safari...or basically anything that isn't IE!

Firefox has plenty of its own problems. You may just not have noticed them. There are several very irritating things with firefox to do with the strange way it lets you drag things around the screen. Things that are fixed and shouldnt be draggable. Also, highlighting the board by mistake is a real pain in firefox.

I started playing at Chess.com using IE which was my default browser. I had a number of losses due to my becoming disconnected. It was frustrating enough I recall making a suggestion that the disconnect issues be addressed (because I love Chess.com and wanted to see it grow and improve) Then I noticed a suggestion to use FireFox. There was even a link to download FireFox. I tried FireFox and do not recall any disconnects since. Also, I like FireFox and it is currently my default browser.
Are there any plans to make available program downloads for live chess here, such as the ones available at ICC or FICS. I don't know how feasible this is or time consuming, not to mention proprietary problems, but it might make things run more smoothly for those who use IE for our browser. I still find that live chess seems to hang and run slowly even when I clear my temp. files. Is this a workable solution or am I way out of bounds? Thanks in advance.
