What browser are you using as well as what operating system? You should be able to click the piece and the square you want it at any time to move it :) (You don't need a special setting).

windows 7 and internet explorer.
I only have the problem at my office computer so it is likely either a problem with the internet there or my computer itself. But even there I can play at gameknot with no problem.

I have this same problem and its so annoying, i lose games because it makes the moves that I did not intend. I'm on Chrome. I am trying to move a piece and it drops it before i let go of mouse. It doesn't happen all the time but enough to make me want to find another site.
The server drops the pieces before I let go of the left mouse button. I dont have this problem with any other chess sites.
Why is this happening?
Can I set it so I have to click on the piece and then click on the square i want to drop the piece?
