after you follow the rules on a couple games..
fair play policy
@jadarite,
That's a ludicrous argument -- your right to play chess on chess.com is not protected by the constitution of the United States.
It's a chess website. Â They have policies. Â If they rob you of life or liberty, then maybe you'd have a case.

well i ws playing a few games and i was lagging badly and then one message came:
Your play is restricted because you have not followed our Fair Policy bla bla bla You must now wait 5 minutes between games. ??? this is not fair i didnt do this purposely :( PLEASE HELP (it says restriction will be lifted after few days or several fair games but how many fair games??)
@maheshroks,
It looks like you are the victim of a bad internet connection?
I guess it's impossible for chess.com to know if you are one of those who deliberately disconnects from games, or just a victim of a faulty connection.
Chess.com figures there have to be consequences for repeated disconnects, because it irks so many users of chess.com.
For example, if I'm playing a game and my opponent loses their queen, and they disconnect, I have to wait 5 minutes for the disconnect timeout to award me the win. Â It's boring. Â I came here to play chess, not to wait around.
In a perfect world, where people didn't deliberately disconnect, there'd be no need to restrict your account for several days/games/whatever, because everyone would know that you didn't do it deliberately.
Sorry that you were unfairly punished.
It's not a perfect world.

The purpose of the "Fair Play Policy" is to punish users for attempting to log into Live Chess with unreliable internet connections; thusly creating a premium experience for everyone else. It actually is not about fair play at all; the title is a misnomer.
Under the Fair Play policy, It is only 2 minutes of waiting not 5 whenever a disconnect occurs, zacarunius

It's 5 minutes for the games I play.

There are nevertheless users who don't play fair by disconnecting instead of clicking "resign."
This illustrates how defunct a system is that says you are guilty till proven innocent. You have to show us your innocence before we remove the shackles of tyranny following you each game.
Quoting someone, from somewhere:
"I don't know what the word is to describe you people. You think in your own little box. As long as you are not inconvenienced everything is ok. But if you have to wait 5 minutes you are going to stop the world and make other people suffer."
