How can I challenge a friend to play live chess?

Both players have to have friended the other. Then, both players go into Live, where you play chess as usual. Click the friends tab, and then hit play next to that person's name. His or her name will only show up if they are in Live, too. Then a bubble will pop up, and you choose colors and time control. Once that is submitted, the other player will have a green box pop up on the screen with a challenger's name. The player must accept the challenge. Enjoy.

What could I do? I am unable to find anything like a Friends tab, let alone a 'play button' 

Whatever I try, I end up in 'Online chess'. It is like a cruel labyrinth.

Any hints what am I doing wrong?

Okays, I think I have made out a 'Friends tab'.

Each friend comes with four buttons, of which only the 'challenge button' looks useful. But this one leads straight to online chess and no way out.

This is very annoying...i can not challenge my friends for live chess. Though we both or online at the same time, though both of our settings are open for challenges, im still not getting through. When even i press the challenge button, it is leading me to one day..two..day...three day challenge board. But how about live chess? 

pls simplify the challenging procedure....kindly fix this asap.

For the previous two posters, you have to be in Live chess first. Then, your friend(s) have to be Live at the same time. Then you can use the Friends tab in Live to challenge them.

thank you all for calling it like it is. I have a tentdancy to think I'm not doing it right. Live challenges is clunky and works haphazardly. If the friend waits for like 2 minutes after their game and doesn't start a new one then there's a chance for the challenge to be accepted. More user friendly help with this vital community function please.

I can challenge my friend but we can only play daily (no option to play only for minutes) Please help

You both have to be in the Live interface at the same time to challenge to a Live game.

In V3 in Live Chess, I know what the letter/number notation means but what do the bar graph and percentages to the right of the notations mean? Thanks.

The bar graph and numbers are the times taken for each move.
