How come no one plays 45 minute games?

I used to do 30 minute games, but one of few times I'm available for a longer, live game is on Saturdays. I don't have the 'net at home (had to cut expenses).

Bullet is not the way forward... blitz is... blitz allows time to think while making it exciting... Also, there is a point when a game is comfortable and when it is boring...

Plus, waiting a long time for your opponent to play is not an option for hyper players. I rarely play slow time controls online.

There is a slow chess league group for those that likes longer time controls. The time controls are 45|45 or 90|30 and you schedule your games with your opponents.

I prefer the 45/45 option. If I have it set to play people with a higher grade, then I expect to learn something from the game whether I win or not - often not! So if an opponent is cheating, so what? I'll play their computer and learn something. I rarely play the same opponent twice. I usually have to wait for a game, but I see this as setting up my board at the back of the club and waiting for an opponent. If I've got time for a long game, I've usually got time to wait for one too. Patience is a virtue, in chess as in life.
