Hello all. I was a 1300s rated player, but lately I have been losing 80%+ of my games, and am dropping rapidly. unrated games are just as unsuccessfull. Let me show you what I mean.

I am not this bad! I have been blundering all over lately, and it is really depressing.

But wait....
It gets worse.

Why am I doing this to myself? Chess psychology help needed.

Losing streaks aren't fun, but you have to find a way to get through them.  Don't beat yourself up over your blunders, learn from them but don't dwell.

Don't make moves without really thinking about it. If you need to, come up with a list of things to check before you make a move and go through it every time until it become a habit.

Personally I find that getting a good night's sleep and making sure I'm not hungry before I start a game makes a world of difference in my performance.  Playing chess without food is like trying to run a marathon without water, your brain is working pretty hard and it needs proper nutrition.

If your losing streak persists stop playing for a while and focus only on studying.  Sometimes you need a break from the board, I love chess but I find it to be a very stressful game because you're often burdened with the idea that one error can cost you the game.

Alright, I am taking a break from the chess world for a while now. I have not been drinking enough water, nor getting enough sleep. Still, I had the win, and I want to get back to 1300, where I belong.

Adios chess.com! It could be a long time. (actually, I am still going to do 960.)

Winning a game is usually the ideal cure for a losing streak...
