Did you ran out of time?
How do I have insufficient material?
Eventually the clock ran down because I was unable to move. If I had run out of time it would have beena loss. The game result was a draw "Because of insufficient material to mate". How can that be so. Both Queens were promoted pawns would the software still recognize them as pawns? It's a winning position, yes?
This is the first time I ever posted anything and don't know how to post the game where you could see better. I posted because I am incensed: and I mean smoking!
Yes this is not a draw. I don't know why or how this is stated as drawn. Only way I can think of if you run out of time - but I guess it would have said that instead of insufficient material.
It actually is mate in 3.
You ran out of time, but your opponent could not mate (since he has insufficient material)
So the game was drawn.
I repeat I didn't run out of time when my pieces failed to move. I had to watch as the clock ran down and I was helpless. If I had run out of time the result would have been a loss on time? But you're saying that couldn't be so because Black couldn't win? I'll put it down to experience but I had plenty of time in hand. the pices (I tried both Queens) just wouldn't (a) highlight, (b) move.

yep
Ok, I understand you. But I ran out of time with plenty in hand. Just the board failed somehow. I don't win many soa losing win hurts.
Guys, if he ran out of time would it not just have said it Game drawn - ran out of time. Instead of Insufficient material...

well said.
At move 57 I'm well up on time and just Queened a pawn and saying goodbye to any doubt the game was won, either on material or time. there was no need to run out of time. I could have paused between each move. It's a simple mate and maybe 6 seconds move time. The pieces would neither highlight in preparation to move, or move, so the clock ran down. I understand why you say it drew because Black could not actually win, therefore the draw. The site however 'glitched' by failing to register my attempted moves. The computer is ok and not failed at any other point excepting that one. If I had been able to move, with a bag of time in hand, I win. There was a brick wall between my cursor and the board it seems.
Thanks for your comments.
Ther was nothing wrong with my computer. When the pieces failed to move I actually typed a message: "The pieces are jammed and won't move" which appeared in the message field, so the page was turning, just not the board. I had time to type a message but couldn't make 3 moves from teh available time to effect mate: because of the board not working as it should!
pre-move, tis the way forward my friend.
you shall never draw such positions again.
It was a 5 + 2 game.
When weird stuff like that happens, I would guess your opponent had some kind of program to manipulate the game you were playing and avoid a loss. You might think it makes no sense to cheat at chess, but it is prevalent on some sites and rampant on others. That is how I came to chess.com, where I have seen much less bad activity than other sites I have used.

In my game against Andybolg I was ahead with two Queens on the board versus a King. We were both low on time but I had some in hand. The game is not stalemate yet a draw because of insufficient material? I was unable to make a move though i kept clicking pieces and the clock ran down. I am very disappointed because had won the
game.
