How do you play titled players

When I am on the live chess site I noticed that I could see all the titled players online in the table below chat.  For each titled player listed there was an option to either watch the game that they were playing or challenge them to a game.  I would really like to play some masters because it sounds like it would be fun.   How do you do this?

Robert_New_Alekhine

They do not have to accept your challenge.

People these days....I tell you

Lol I can't believe masters responded to this. Instead of commenting lets play!

I just researched Queenie888.  Wow.  Impressive!  I got nearly beaten by an 8 year old on here a few days ago.  I begged the kid in chat to show the game and my comments to his parents and to get himself a coach.  Young people who play great chess are really fascinating to watch play.

Maybe if you were better at chess, masters would play against you.

Finally they have been accepting.  Beat my first master this week!

Exactly who did you beat? no one on your list of games here is close to master and there are no games for you on the USCF website. Just curious who the master was.

His name is Ashok Gandhi.

Look at my blitz stats for highest rated player beaten. Mvpac or something is the name and you can see on his profile that he is a NM

catkeson

Is an NM the weakest master? I feel like FMs and CMs and stuff are higher rated.

CM's are Candidate Masters, the better term for Expert.

For the USCF that is true but a CM on chess.com is a 2200+ rated FIDE player (or has been 2200+ rated at some point, assuming they didn't receive an automatic title) and usually considered a little stronger than a USCF NM.

But is a 2200 ( FIDE )  CM stronger than a 2350 ( USCF ) NM ?  Cool

Yeah, I probably should have qualified that as stronger than a 2200 NM, since USCF NMs can be stronger.

Thanks - but it was unintentional...

Martin_Stahl

You didn't bump it anyway. BlackChrysler57 did.
