In a live game, no.That is called cheating.

After the game is over you can analyse it.

Yes it would be cheating. You don't see OTB players get a little board or ipad out and run through a few scenarios do you? Once the game starts all the scenarios must be in your brain.

Thats fine Shawn. And indeed one of the best ways to improve your game is to analyse your completed games with a chess computer or just with a board to see what you missed.
