Someone 1,585 will now be 1,735, and someone 1,615 will now be 1,415. That can't be deliberate, or make anything more accurate.
huge rating jump

I love that this place rolls out a major rating change without notifiying anyone. Complete amateur hour.
Next week they are going to randomly inserts characters into people's passwords to increase security.

"Recently we discovered that our ratings in Standard Chess were artificially low as a result of various factors. All of our users have had their Standard Chess ratings boosted as a result of this artificial ratings deflation. Now our ratings more accurately reflect actual playing strength in comparison to FIDE or USCF." by Calamondin 112 minutes ago"
IOW,
Other than the people who lost rating, everyone had their ratings boosted.

The questions are:
Why not blitz rating which is even lower on average in comparison to other ratings?
Why not actually communicate the change?
How can you actually make a mistake in adding a set amount of points to ratings?
I think it's obvious. They now have a software that can measure a player strenght, and detect cheaters.
So they gave the points to non-cheaters (vs cheaters), and removed the points from cheaters in every suspicious game.
That's why it seems like high rating lost points and low rating players won.
"Due to the new anti-cheating system, ratings will be updated accordingly in the new update."

So 1,800+ should have an extra 400, everyone else 150.
Absolute amateur hour, so now a 1799 and 1801 are 252 points apart even though their strength is basically the same. (Well actually they will be 602 points at the moment because they messed up the 1600-1800 pool).

Yeah, I thought people in Live Standard are underrated before this change. I guess I can play standard without feeling too bad about myself :)

This change may actually encourage me to play standard chess here again!
p.s. Sorry Scott you were right, it is based on rating and nothing to do with RD.

This is the exact reason why standard rating were changed and not blitz.

Scott, there's one player who was 19xx and is now +2300. The players I've seen who lost a bunch of rating points were inactive in standard chess.
