chess games are meant to be short thats why it is chess not monopoly .time management is waht we need in chess.
I think you can custom make it in the live chess. Just click on the custom & put in the minutes there. :)

where did you ever get that idea! A game of chess can be played in 1 minute or hours or even days.
You can set custom times in Live Chess, so if the timing is n ot what you like, don't accept a challenge with those settings.
However, I *do* agree that I'd like to see a checkbox that turns off the timer in some of the tactics and chess mentor. As a learner, sometimes I just need more time to find the solution. At least don't penalize me if I DO find the correct solution, but slower than the tactic calls for.

Has anyone ever discussed making a longer live chess game. I am very slow, especially in close matches. Three times I ran out of time before I would have won or drawn. Once I one with 12 sec left.
It would be good to have an hour (for each person) match.
