"If I disable chat for that particular game, will I be able to chat on futur games?"
yes.
If you disable the chat, I believe it is disabled while you remain logged in to live chess. Once you leave live chess and come back, it will definitely return.
EDIT: Sharp responses there....
Thank you 'LittleOne".
I wish there was a way to find friends that are here to play chess and not just to 'frazzle' opponents :-(
Oh....well then...ok. Thank you kindly, sharon :-)
I will disable chat next time I play!
Your welcome, MadamAnonymous
Yes, you can always disable chat, even in between a game; eventhough I was not able to do the reverse. And you can always reset this by going to your settings in live chess. Once you disable chat, it will not be reset automatically, whether you log out or not as someone said. Hope my response is already late for u
If they know you are female, a lot of times that is all these sorts need to know to start. It is so sad that a lady may feel the need to hide her gender just to prevent such nonsense. I however do not recommend doing so :)
I am sorry you had bad experiences, and right out of the box. I don't need to know the nature of the inappropriate conversations, so this may not be pertinent, but I have observed a group of men making comments on the photos of women posted here that I would think are generally unwelcome...and are basically crude and stupid.
Whatever the nature of the remarks forced upon you, I am glad you are not quick to judge the site based on the behavior of a few. It really is a wonderful chess-playing/learning site.
Every village has their idiot(s)
I prefer to give everyone a chance to prove they're an idiot before I assume it, so I leave chat on until there's a problem.
i played this guy named vicktorka, i he beat me like 3 or 4 times then I beat him once and say "ggs", he replies "thanks for the points cretin"
Hello,
I am new to chess.com and have had several occasions where an opponent will start asking very inappropriate questions. I do not usually answer them and make the opponent aware that I do not have any interest in having these kind of conversations but they do not stop. I asked one opponent if he uses this kind of chess to throw off the other player (aka. me) and he said:"Yes".
What is the best way to stop this kind of talk with out having to resign the game? If I disable chat for that particular game, will I be able to chat on futur games?
Please let me know since I do not want to ignore every player because of a few bad apples.
Thank you kindly!
