invisible queen

I use iPhone app to play LiveChess. Today my opponent's queen disapeared from the board and 'null' text appeared in move list. I was checkmated a few moves later with this invisible queen.

I've had disappearing pieces too with the app. Also, time running out on my side with no update on opponents last move and inability to move.

A makeshift remedy that works sometimes is to: minimize the app for 10 seconds or so, then come back to it, thereby inducing a reconnect and refresh.

ClayNelson, thanks for advice. I was wondering how to force reconnection.

Same it was right now with my daughter she played against user SanjayMunisamy143. Is SanjayMunisamy143 a cheater or is it just an iPad app bug?

KahZeeMin

I'm sure it's just a bug - I did not played with SanjayMunisamy, but saw (or did not see) invisible pieces neither ones nor twise. ClayNelson adviced a trick - close the app and start it again in 10-15 seconds. Reconnection to server is forced and the board is redrawn. Works well for me, last time yesterday.

This is not a bug it is a cheat. The player who did this to me was taunting me the whole time and I could not stop it no matter what i tried. This site is immature they want paying members but they have no way to adjudicate these types of cheats. Until they can prevent this from happening or give redress to the victims of cheaters I will stay on sites like play chess or ICC.

I agree with bignasir. It happened to me just now and it is impossible that it was a bug. My opponent had an invisible piece that took my rook and queen, and just refused to comment what was going on. It started after he made a bad move and lost his rook. In the scorecard his moves were just recorded as "null", but still my pieces were disappearing. Just can't understand why anyone would bother to play rated chess and then cheat.

Which of the top rated guys was this then, because with cheats like this they wouldn't lose.
