Is there a time limit per move in live play

I just played this 2 1 bullet game (http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=637919008) and with a knight sacrifice that turned out real well for me got my opponent into a totally lost position, where I think mate was unavoidable.

He still had a good amount of time on his clock and went into a long think. Suddenly, while he still had time, the game was over and the win awarded to me, with the notice, that my opponent may have violated the fair play policy... etc.

I don't feel that my opponent did anything wrong! If I were in his position I also would have gone into a long think before resigning.

So I wonder, what if anything, he did wrong here? He certainly had not disconnected, because after the game he offered a rematch, which we played without incident.

Is there a time limit per move in live games? If so, what is this time limit?

PS: If anybody feels that I should not make my opponent identifyable by posting the game link, I will remove it. As I don't think my opponent did anything wrong though, I don't see any public shaming or accusing in providing the link.

Actually, that game shows you won by resignation:

Alpenschach won by resignation

He resigned, but there is a time limit per move but taking longer only violates the fair play policy

Hm, so then he did resign. Okay, thanks for clarifying that.

Now, how can I learn more about this time limit per move?

I'm kind of worried I might violate this myself in slower games, because I usually like to think for long times...
