Mosai moves in quickly to castle king-side; but Geir has a B File open. A left pawn, A right pawn. OHhh!, an upper cut with the bishop. That's gonna leave a mark. The fireworks are tremendous. And that's the end of the 1st round.  Both fighters look exhausted Bob.  I don't know how they do it Jim.  The card girls this evening are the lovely Kohai, and the beautiful Kansha. (ding), ther's the bell for the second round.

A devastating blow to the body, and DOWN goes the queen. Can black fend off that double check??  I don't know how long they can keep this up.  Geir44 has busted threw the wall of pawns. He's not moving his left arm. I think he's hurt, Oh he's HURT.  That diagonal IS open, wait, I think I see a week square. Mosai protects it with the knight. Both fighters are locked up on the ropes, with 30 seconds left in the 2nd round.

Geir44 pulls out a 3rd bishop, and checks Mosai. She's protesting to the tournament director Erik, and there's the bell to finish the second round.  The OOoooold  3rd bishop trick. I haven't seen that since Kohai gave me a round house kick that dropped me in 2007.  Both fighters are at it again, but a camoura is put on Geir44. I think he's gonna tap-out. These fighters are giving a textbook lesson in martial arts chess. A heculean effort by Geir, to take the initiative. I don't beleive it. While Mosai was distracted, Geir is attacking AGAIN. OH!, this doesn't look pretty Bob. We're seeing the beginning of the end for Mosai. She just looked up at the clock, now she's looking for advice from her corner. OHhhh, there it is. She tapped-out, just before her corner was about to throw in the towel.  Wait a minute;  ERIK  is over-riding the tap-out. The 3 bishop ruls is ILLEGAL.  Absolute pandamonium has broken out here. The audience doesn't like it. BOOOooo   I think Mosai has won by losing. I've never seen that before in my life. Well that's one for the record books. I think that tournament director is gonna need some help from security to get out of here.

Need I say more?

Avatar of yourmindillusions

it's not that i want to be one it's only that i don't open chess.com a lot and i think it's default settings but the question is are all of the leechers true leechers or they are just like me :D ?

Avatar of mosai

Nah default settings have max=min

Avatar of yourmindillusions

my min rating is  +1 and my max is +500 and i don't remember changing them or maybe i did

Avatar of yourmindillusions

in fact i hate all this rating thing because i'm not the type that open chess a lot like if i have the free time not only that but it's not like all those highly rated deserve the rank who agrees? or is it only me the noob here :D !

LOL thank you i appreciate the fire you made for me :D

Avatar of yourmindillusions

well sure thing :) thx but we are discussing and arguing facts arn't we ?

Avatar of AcidBadger

Playing with a -/+500 or whatever rating range is no problem at all. Play the way you want.

Avatar of teletolumby

You are not arguing the facts if you are arguing with mosai :o

Avatar of yourmindillusions

lol i'm arguing with mosai the fact that there is a new specie in chess.com wich happens to be that i belong to it :D

Avatar of yourmindillusions

and i think they have a point to put a +500 max rating :D

here you go : since i'm not playing in chess com a lot i won't have a good ranking but in fact i'm a good player so i set a higher max to play with a match for my skills you see it's kind of complicated :D

Oh I see, you think I have a superiority complex and a big ego associated with the game, like JGambit. Well, I don't. If you had actually read through the thread you would realize that.

Quite frankly, no. The way that you're being so defensive against not very much suggest either boredom or insecurity. I have no intention of trying to start a fight. Really,I don't have time for cyber-combat. I'm simply stating my point of view.

I thought it was pretty obvious (as well as stated multiple times) that leeching causes an increased matching time.

Back in my day, you would get a game on chess.com immediately, every single time, 24/7.

Nowadays, while this is still mostly true, I sometimes have to wait upwards of 5 minutes to get matched for a 5 minute game. As leeching becomes more widespread and encouraged by the community, this will only get worse.

Well! The cat is finally out of the bag! It was not at all obvious, because I just re-read the thread and nowhere did you mention that "inreased matching time" was your only reason that "leeching" is bad.

I guess you think that "leeching" is up recently as opposed to "back in your day" Don't know how you could think that. People are getting smarter?

Essentially, your agrument runs, "People that leech make for a longer wait time, and this affects everyone." So, if "leechers" are willing to wait 5 minutes in order to play a game, that's not okay? I never have to wait for more than 10 seconds. EVER. And I'm in a percentile with less people even.

Basically, the smaller your seek range is, the more time you have to wait. If my minimum is -25 and I'm getting games every 10 seconds. That's not a problem. But ovbiously if what you'er saying is true and I have a 5 minute wait. I'll ovbiously lower my minimum to say -75 and cut my wait time way down.

So really it's whatever each person is willing to wait.

I see, you're a troll.

You're welcome to stay, but you will have to bring your own food.
