If I want to play live chess against a computer, is there a way to invite a computer to play with me, or do I have to wait until one is available and a game pops up in the Challenges window? Thanks!

Yes, you can click on the "Players" tab once you are logged into the live chess and then you can click on one of the computer's name where you should get a pop up choice to challenge to a game.
