Live Chess: Mouse vs Trackpad?

Sort:
Avatar of camberfoil

I play chess.com on my laptop, and have at times experienced things such as misclicks, cursor freezing, etc using my trackpad. (For the record, it can be clicked, it does not have the left- and right-click buttons beneath it). I also have a wireless mouse, which I generally do not use because I'm quite used to the trackpad. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the mouse or trackpad is better for Live Chess (usually 1|0 matches). Thanks in advance.

Don't everyone give a suggestion at once...

Um, you could try either and decide yourself.  Then let us know which is better. Wink

Mouse, your hand can move faster than your finger can

1. I think at 1/0, a mouse would be better. I've used trackpads before and they are hardly ever as accurate as a mouse.

2. Chess.com implemented a new way to hide the spam from the Most Recent Posts listing by requiring a post to have 4 responses before it shows up. So it can sometimes take a while to start generating responses. My advice is, in the future after you make a post, make 4 dummy responses to get it to show up.

3. Don't eat the yellow snow.

Thank you, keelof, for the yellow snow advice.

Use a mouse. Trackpads (even with left and right click buttons) are much less efficient.

Suggestion: Stop playing blitz and bullet.
