Live chess tournament

Hi!

Is anybody interested in playing in  a tournament with long time controls? The time would be somwhere along the lines of 40-60 mins.

I feel most people would play more seriously in a tournament than in a simple match, although there is no prize.

There would be a game per day, and the players will agree on an hour the day before.

Please let me know what you think, and what would be a suitable format for it.

This would not be the thing for me.

Thanks  Doublebruce

@ doublebruce:

Most chess servers have live blitz tournaments ( FICS, Chesscube, Playchess etc. ) but I don't know of any that have long time controls. That's why I started this topic.

@Mephisto:

Thanks for the support, I hope we'll be able to make this work.

Perhaps, it depends on the details, perhaps one game per two days would be better.

a blitz tourney would be nice, 8 or 9 rounds in a tournament in a day.

The ICC has a slow time control tournament (~45 minutes if I remember correctly) every Sunday.

FICS Tournements are 45/45..  But it will be nice if we hold  time control Tournys just like that .. Cool
