Its awful the lag, which kills time. Plus sometimes you can't tell where the piece is when you are dragging it back and it gets put on the wrong square
What is chess.com doing to fix this?
This is so frustrating. For the past week, I have been dealing with lag issues and flashing clock. Some games even just stopped(aborted).
I know more people have also experienced this, but I haven’t seen any kind of communication from chess.com to notify players that they acknowledge there is an issue or that they are doing something about it.

The only issue that is relating of chess.com is the increase of players playing, so slightly slower servers may result. The rest (lag) is all due to your connection. My connection to live chess is perfectly fine without lag.
