Mate in Two.. but instead??

I had a rook 3 pawns & a pawn on 8th rank, with 5.3 seconds left. It was my opponents turn with 44 seconds and counting. The time froze for a few secs then said Insufficient Materials ??? Can anyone help or explain this??

Thanks guys. So lag for almost an entire minute huh? A few seconds maybe, but not that long.. it has happened more than a few times for me to notice. Also only with players who have high rankings. I either lost in that manner or won because they cut the connection at a certain time for an auto resign. Thanks again for all your responses!
