Message To People Who Disable Chat

Dear live chess user that disabled that on me,
I am sorry that me trying to have manners by saying "good game" upset you. But there are some people on this site who try to be nice and make friends. Normally after a chess you good game, it is the right thing to do. Instead you go ahead and disable the chat right after I said it. Very nice manners. The least you could was say good game back or just accept my rematch without having to disable the chat.
I know that some people can be really mean and offensive on chess.com live chess chat, but there are a handful of nice, normal people who try to communicate with other chess players around the world. The least you people could do is give people a chance. Then, if they start to annoy you, block them, disable chat or whatever you want to do. A lot of people on chess.com are the nice type who just want to have a good conversation about the game, or, mostly, just be nice and say gl or gg like in a real game of chess.
It just annoys me when you people disable the chat the second the game loads so I can't even say good luck. At least half the people I play have done this and today I thought I would say something after I had chat disabled on my game right after I said "good game" and offered a rematch.
Saying "good game" is not ignorant, it is not meant to be offensive, and it is not a way to say "Ha! You suck! I beat you!" Saying good game is proper in any situation when you play a game of chess. I really hope you do say good game or at least shake hands in a real game of OTB chess.
I know it is online chess, but come on people. Just give people a chance. Half the time they don't even talk to you in the first place. If they start to abuse you block them and report them. It's that easy!
Sorry about the rant but I want to get my point across that it is rather rude to disable the chat.
With regards,
~Matthew
P.S. good game to everyone that I have played and will play. I wish you good luck in your games.
I understand your anger, but I think this is such an insignificant issue. The user has the right to disable the chat, and that is the bottom line. I don't disable communication since I find that most are not actively trying to be hurtful; they just want to play a game of chess.

If someone wants to tease you just let them. Ignore them. Don't listen. They'll get tired of it and realize you don't care.

If it really annoys you that much, there is a way you can beat the system immediately after your first game with a chat disabler.
Right after the first game ends and just before the second game starts, there is a window of only a few seconds where you can type "good game" really quickly before they can click to disable the chat for the second game.
They might go ahead and disable it again anyway, but at least you'll have the satisfaction of knowing they didn't want to let you type anything in the chatbox to them and you were able to do it anyway.
Sometimes they'll even resign the moment they see you were able to outsmart them.
I'm not saying I agree with this tactic, but just that I know it can be done.
I'm not sure what it says about your character if you enjoy being able to tell them good game despite their attempt to keep you from doing it, but for some reason, I do admit to a feeling of satisfaction the few times I did it for fun.

I doubt many people disale chat individually each game, they just tick the setting on their account that permanently disables it.

I enjoy, for the most part, communicating with the other player. Occasionally, someone doesn't want to communicate (anger...whatever!) or doesn't communicate in my language. I have a great game going on with Sergy, who replied to my most lavish compliment about how crazy good, maybe the most dynamic game Ior both of us have ever played. He responded in Ukrainian - one word. We are all interesting people and I hope that I have been a challenge and an encouragement to all. Recently had a way higher rated player who was ready to throw in the towel (OK - I played way over my head). I convinced him that his situation was not as desperate as he thought. I had traded peaces for postion. He hung in there and pulled a draw out of it. Happy for both of us!
Mastermatthew I apologise if you have answered this already..... But if some1 blunders and then resign do you still say gg? Do you say that in real life after a blunder by your opponent?
I say good game after every game I play. Even if I did terrible... If they find a cool tactic I'll usually say "wow! That was nice! Good job!" Even if I blunder and resign I'll say it.
But, some people made a good point about saying "thanks for the game" that might seem more chill but all in all its really the same thing.
