Monarchist Origins

As Chess is the Official Worldwide Monarchist Sport, unchanged in actual Royal Rules from the 14th Century (or early 15th Century) , depending on where (which Kingdom) the Royal Tournaments were actually played, it is more enjoyable when you are actually playing the Monarchist Sport to know why the various Chess pieces are so named and why they have the actual power, with, of course, the King having the ultimate power and being the actual object of the Royal Game -- in other words, ALWAYS play to win or you will nullify all respect you may have from your opponent -- and always accept a Draw as a partial victory as it is worth 50% of a victory point.  And always remember the Royal Cardinal Rule -- if given the choice always take White as your advantage vis-a-vis Black is immediate!

I make all of the above comments from experience as a former active Member of the Manhattan Chess Club, the foremost Chess Club on Planet Earth.  And, of course, as a Monarchist (Benevolent variety) I always enjoy the Monarchist Sport, especially when I win or obtain a well-earned draw, as winning in the "name of the game!"  As a point of record, in my lifetime my Chess Record is roughly, from the early days of my youth, to the present, 2,722 Victories, 1,902 defeats and

501 draws (which, of course, includes Stalemates, 3-move repetitive, by agreement and 50-move marathon).  Also, in my lifetime, I had about 25 no-contests because some of the opponents threw various and assorted temper-tantrums and the civil remedy for that situation is to have the Chess Club Manager , or a neutral person, declare the Match "N0=Contest" - with by a peaceful and gentlemanly agreement, sealed by a firm handshake, the "No-Contest" is officially legitimized, especially if your are playing in a Royal Tournament and money and trophies are involved.
