Mouse mistake

I was narrowly ahead in a 30min game positionally I think with most material exchanged.

We each had a rook and a knight and 6 pawns.

I went to make a move with the rook and accidentally released the mouse button dropping the rook in the path of a pawn and it was taken.

It was obviously a mouse mistake as there was no sense in the move.

Is there anyway to request that a mouse mistake be taken back and the clocks rewound?

^That is a good idea. Thanks.

I have been mousing down and dragging which is not necessary.

You're welcome. I too learned that the hard way. Also, on the app, you have the option to utilize a confirmation button (it's a check mark) before a move is final.

Thanks. That is very interesting. I don't use the app. But it seems a bit of an unfair advantage to app users versus website players.

It is much easier to visualise the strength of the move when you can actually see the piece in its prospective new place. It is much easier for your mind's eye to see the threats and options one further step down the line.

I guess I can do that with the click and drag on the website. Just have to be very careful with the mouse-finger not to let go till you are sure.

Would be nice if there were an option to click and move and then have to hit confirm before the move is final when playing on the website so you can visualise the new position before committing (similar to the way Daily Chess works).

Is there a suggestion box for improvements forum?
