Mouse slip ettiquette

When your opponent mouse slips from a completely won game to a completely lost game, what do you do? Depending on my mood, I may offer a draw if I feel sorry for them. Most of the time, I just win the game because I've been beaten because of mouse slips so many times so it's all fair.

What about you? Do you

1. Win the game effortlessly

2. Laugh at your opponent

3. Wait till the last moment to deliver checkmate because it's so sweet

4. Promote as many Queens (or Knights, if you prefer that) as possible

5. All of the above

6. Offer a draw because it's fair play

7. Resign because you should have lost the game (and you're crazy!!)

I lost a game yesterday through a mouse slip: won to lost in a flash! I also once made an accidental brilliancy by a mouse slip, sacking a rook by mistake and it turned out to be winning. If my opponent makes such a slip, I generally continue as if that's what they intended as that's what everyone else seems to do. If there was a culture of draw-offering in such situations I would happily follow it as I think that would be preferable. It is unseemly to be concerned only with increasing your grade at the detriment of reasonable behaviour.

If everyone mouse-slips, it’s fair.
