Hi,

My account has been tagged as suspicous regarding fair play policy !

Sorry but I totally disagree!!

What happens !???

I always write few words as an Hello before to start my first move ! And I salute my opponent  at the end

BUT

before to play a game when the system has found for me an opponent I always check comments (from other players) about this opponent ! And if I see that this user has comments like "engine user" or "runs when game is lost" I QUIT the game !!!

IS THIS IS VIOLATION OF FAITR POLICIES  ???? NO SORRY. HOW YOU CAN JUDGE THIS WITHOUT TO TALK TO ME ???

ANSWER ! PLEASE !

Fair Play Policy

Chess.com encourages players to be kind and show good sportsmanship. Our Fair Play policy expects that players will not...

  • intentionally disconnect during games
  • stall to make opponents wait unnecessarily
  • frivolously abort games because they don't want to play black, etc. (Note that we have now implemented a limit on the frequency with which users may abort games; please Abort only when necessary. Also see below.)

Sorry but I have the right (I think) to refuse to play against a suggested opponent before MY FIRST MOVE !!! I loose too many Elo points because engine users ! THANKS for your understanding. I never quit a game because I was in trouble in a game! cowards player and runs players do that.

Take care about the circumstances of my décisions.

NOT HAPPPY AT ALL

I could add this:

You ask for games and you receive in your face a player doing his first moves without any hello and comments from other players saying that this player is an engine user, a cheater or running when the game is lost for him then what you will do ??? Come on, you quit and then it's normal !!! Who wants to plays against  players like this???? who ???? Please make your work and detect this kind of players instead to penalise good players trying to do their best with their only brain !!!

Thank you !!!

Turn off chat, block, and move on.

Your profile states:

Also, I will take a short moment to check comments posted by other players!

and then if I have a doubt I will refuse to play. The risk for that is to receive a fair policy warning report! I have no problem with that !

Thank you

And yet, youre posting about it.  So obviously, you have a problem with getting Fair Play warnings.

denisj01

I moved on at any time !!! And this is the reason for which my account has been tagged "Violating our Fair policiy" and then I have to wait long minutes before to find an opponent !!!

WTF ????

denisj01

NO! You did not understand !

In my profile I say that I will qui games if the opponent the system is getting to me has warning for real players !!!! Having already experimented bad games with that player !!!

I never qui games after my first move !

I always salute my opponent !

What is the problem !?????

Do we have the possibility to refuse to play when a player is clearly identified as "Engine users" "Chetater" "Runs when loose". I TAKE THE RIGHT BECAUSE IT'S NOT FAIR To PLAY GAMES WHEN PEOPLE ARE USING ENGINE !!! NOIT FAIR WHEN THEN LETS THE CLOCK RUNNING WHEN GAME IS LOST !!!

Seriously !!! Come on !!! I do not want to play against players like this! NO ! NEVER ! ENOUGH!

Anyone can accuse someone of cheating, sore losers like to write bad comments on other's pages, and I don't even know what "Runs when loose" means. Your opponent is under no obligation to chat with you. Writing some reason for not following the fair play policy in your profile does not excuse you from following the fair play policy.

I leave all my negative comments up. None of them are true. Don't judge a player based on a few daft comments.

Exactly!  I leave up all comments good, bad, and indifferent.

seasideman

Yes, I think that is a violation of the fair play policy. You're welcome.

AIM-AceMove

Other site have no problem of finding and punishing cheaters. They do it almost instantly. Here you have to send report, replays then wait hours hours dayz then cheater is not banned.. if it is they create new account and same story.

This is impossible on other site, they cant play on official tournaments.

It means that they can only run after stretching a whole lot.

Apparently irony is not one of the weapons in Denis' arsenal...

Note: I quit a game I never start (no 1st move from me)  !!! This is my point! We should have possibility to refuse a player, it's like this on some other sites.

Example: You are looking for a game, chess.com find an available player for you! OK! but sorry I would have the right to say, NO, not with that player. You see ?

It looks like this feature is too complicated for chess.com IT division.

Maybe you should stop issuing challenges and look for open seeks. Before accepting the open challenge, you could check your opponent's profile. As simple as that.

1. There are a lot of sore losers who accuse everyone who beats them of cheating.  Those comments on people's pages are usually meaningless.  They are also a violation of the terms of service, which prohibit public accusations of cheating, and people can and have been muted for leaving such comments; the proper way to deal with suspected cheaters is to report them to the support team by selecting Report Abuse from the Help menu.  It's not right to refuse to play someone just because some sore loser accused them of cheating.

2. Comments such as "runs when game is lost" could also be caused by someone's internet connection dropping mid-game.  If someone genuinely does this repeatedly, however, they will start be flagged by the fair play policy just as you have been, and start to face consequences such as delays between games.

3. One of the consequences of being flagged by the fair play policy is that you are more likely to be paired with others who are also flagged.  Thus, by repeatedly aborting games, you are actually increasing your chance of meeting opponents who like to abandon games when they're losing.  If you never abort games, you are less likely to run into these people.

4. Many people simply don't like to chat, or may not speak English or another language you know.  The fact that someone doesn't chat doesn't mean anything.

You are best off playing every game.  That will reduce the risk of running into people who abandon lost games.  If you want to review your opponents before the game, look for open seeks and review their profile before you accept it.

If you think your opponent is cheating, review it with an engine after the game is complete, and if you still think they're cheating send a report to the support team by selecting Report Abuse under the Help menu, including any relevant evidence.

If your opponent abandons the game in a lost position, that can be reported too.  If they do it often enough, staff may decide to take more serious action.
