I have tried to google this topic before posting this but couldn't really find anything relevant but I do not understand the reasoning behind naming the openings when starting live games. Fair enough many experienced well read players will know most of the openings anyway but players of my skill and knowledge base may not know many except the most popular ones so learning a not so well known opening and using that as an advantage playing white is sort of scuppered by the fact that the opo has just been tipped off as to what it is.
