This is the perfect way to "stop" game that you can't win anymore because you made a huge mistake... I have 3 messages about aborting my game. Please do something with that. It is annoying.
I'm not sure if I understand you correctly but ... BOTH players can abort an online-chess game before the 4th move without any penalty. After that, ABORT is no longer an option (the ABORT button disappears). Whoever RESIGNS after that, loses.
