Well, I know that the Live Chess has that disconnect problem. And I'm not the only one who experience that. So for the moment in below 1500 rating, 10 minute games are suitable to compensate for the time lost due to disconnects. I don't mind having less time than my opponent in this level. Later after my rating goes up to 1700 or 1800 I will increase the time so the percentage of time lost due to disconnects is so small that it can be neglected.
But there's another issue that bothered me. Often I'm waiting for my opponent to make his move while actually my opponent has made his move but it is not displayed on my screen so I'm the one who lost due to timeout. My connection is fine because while playing I usually read the forum. It is just the Live Chess window that is not refreshed. Any trick to work around this?
