I don't want to state the obvious, but you have to open the Live chat box to read the Live chat box. If you are easily offended, just don't open it. I like the ability to start a game within seconds of searching for one & don't want to see that restricted because of a select few who are sensitive to the opt-in feature of the Live chat.
The people who have been rude to me are blocked. It is impossible to regulate the amount of respect people are to give each other; do what I do & make it a point to be exempliary in your actions. People will see you are leading by example & become inspired to do the same.
pay live -chess
Yes, I agree with that... paying members are generally better behaved.
I soooooooooooooooooooo disagree with you, mate!
Don't get me,BorgQueen and many other paid members wrong, we know that there many good free member here a well, that why BorgQueen said genearlly.
Indeed. With 3 million members now, 200 is a pathetic block limit that needs extending.
need extending ? that will make window-7_'s day, well others say they they have little problem on the live-chess. Maybe it the way you bahave RR, that might have cause the conflict ?
is it that hard to stay out of the chat room and disable chat ..... if the rude ones bother you that much. I'm just saying.

yes that would save all the blocking.

This is partly a problem of having only one type of block. If you're going to have a block feature at all, why should it not be able to specify a particular activity? Some people block someone for live chess purposes, and others are blocked for forum or personal message/notes "abuse". With a database system it shouldn't be too difficult to have 3 or 4 subgroups of blocking, and one could check off one or more (or all) boxes when blocking someone.
he doesn't really need to blocked those that run the time out could have just ignore it .
Sounds like a great solution for the rudeness/abuse problem.

there seem to be a fine line between the rude and the abuse.
yes you did, you said I had to ignore it, which is putting up with it and not doing anythign about it, thats what ignoring is
rude- ignore it (disable chat)
abuse- block it and report if necassary , make sense ?
have you got a better idea how to keep the live-chess clean ?
Maybe have a seperate playing area, something like a "rude zone", where you are required to act like a jerk when you play. So when if you're rude in the "nice zone", you can still play live chess for free, but you are kicked to the "rude zone" with all the other crazies. Fun for the kids!
Trysts!!!!!! you may be on to something here.
Is it just me, or is it funny that the leader of this blog is from Australia? huh? no?

Isn't pdela still wondering what "ILikeFlags" means?

If I am not mistaken there is an option where you can send your challenges to only play premium players. I would not use it because it takes longer to get a game. I think the simple way to deal with it is for member to simply block any player which they don't enjoy playing against (for whatever reason).
btw....I have encountered smaller percentage of abusive players here than in any of the other chess sites I have participated in ( maybe 6 or so other sites).
